United National Party’s Ruwan Wijewardena, said the Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe was inside when the protesters gathered in front of his private residence, but Security Personnel removed him to a different location.
Such actions, according to Wijewardena, will only polarise society and political parties.
“If these kinds of incidents keep on going, we can wave bye-bye to the IMF and any international assistance that is going to come to the country,” he said.
“If there is lawlessness, if there is no coming together among the political groups, there is no way the international community can come in and help this country,” Wijewardena added.
Premier’s private residence in Colombo 03 was attacked on 09 July.
