Sri Lanka’s media owners have asked for first priority to be given to local media before considering foreign media for information about internal matters.
Many politicians tend to disclose first-hand information about the crisis situation to foreign media, pressuring local media outlets to subscribe to news services for developing stories to update.
This concern was first raised by Mohamed Irfan Ahamed, a media entrepreneur and owner of a television channel in the country.
Our leading politicians mostly gives the 1st interview to a foreign media, not to a local media. Here also they are doing a big mistake by getting the digital revenue US$ not to Sri Lanka. Shame on them! #EconomicCrisisLK #EconomicCrisisInSrilanka #EconomicCrisis #Aragalaya
