President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has not departed for Singapore on the scheduled Singapore Airlines flight from Male to Singapore as of yet.
There are reports of him getting asylum in Singapore, and it is being said that he was scheduled to leave for Singapore by flight number SQ437.
However, fearing backlash from civilians, Rajapaksa has requested the Government of the Maldives to arrange a private jet to fly him to Singapore.
