The Minister of Power and Energy, Kanchana Wijesekera provided an update on the fuel shipment that arrived in Colombo.
2 Diesel Cargos completing discharge in Colombo at the moment. 1 more Diesel Cargo at the harbor to be discharged. 1 Petrol Cargo is undergoing the quality sampling & will begin discharging tomorrow. CPSTL will commence deliveries to the Rural Depots by trains & trucks tomorrow.

He further said that the Ministry of Youth with the National Youth Corps and its members have volunteered to assist the National Fuel Pass initiative.

Their services will be available in rural areas as well, Wijesekera added.
