Former Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva has been acquitted of bribery charges levelled against him by Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa.
A three-member committee was recently appointed by President Ranil Wickremesinghe, at the request of Silva, to probe the allegations.
The Committee investigated the issue brought up by Sajith Premadasa based on a news report that claimed a Cabinet Minister had demanded a bribe from Japan’s Taisei Company.
However, the Committee determined that the former Minister was not guilty of the charges levied against him.
