Sri Lanka wins first ever para-sports medal at Commonwealth Games

Para-Athlete Palitha Bandara won the silver medal in the men’s discus throw at the Commonwealth Games, with a distance of 44.20 metres.

Bandara won the silver medal in the men’s discus throw, F42-44/61-64 category.

Aled Davis won the gold medal while Harrison Walsh won the bronze medal.

Bandara, who is an Army Corporal attached to the Sri Lanka National Guard, becomes the first Sri Lankan to win a medal in para-sports at the Commonwealth Games.
